DANGEROUS COMBINATION is the first release on Nocturnal Technology: Mars89’s own collaboration with British Columbia based arts collective, SeekersInternational (SKRSINTL). Inspired by early rave music from acid house to bleep techno, along with anything industrial, DANGEROUS COMBINATION is buoyed by Mars89’s own recent hardware explorations.
Following the lead from soundsystem culture, each track on the album has bass to fill a room. Each sample, on songs from “Baddest Clash” to “Big Up Worldwide,” is taken from SeekersInternational‘s extensive library of samples, built up over the years that the audio-visual art project has been running. A large amount of the samples are taken from late 80s to early 90s Jamaican soundclash tape recordings. The soundsystem vibe is upped by E-mura (BIM One Productions, etc) on mastering duties, bringing his extensive reggae and soundsystem experience to the music.
DANGEROUS COMBINATION will be released on digital and cassette, the latter made from recycled plastic: a sustainable way of possessing a physical copy of the music without excessive harm to the environment.

Protocol:
This archive functions as an interface between documentation and production, bringing together selected works across electronic music, moving image, sound design, and interdisciplinary practice. Each entry functions as a transmission node within a network of recurring signals, references, and experiments. Connections emerge through feedback, resonance, and recursion, allowing ideas to migrate across different media and contexts. As the archive evolves, existing entries acquire new relationships, revealing patterns that were previously latent and allowing new trajectories to emerge over time.
